Jan & Ian from Kent and Avril from just around the corner, heard excellent reviews of Bari Bird in hand, and for their last night stay decided to have a take away... Great friendly service, on time, we collected so a nice discount. It was absolutely delicious, and great value for money. I loved all the little extras . DELICIOUS. GOOD VALUE. EXCELLENT SERVICE. Although we had a take away we viewed inside and decided we would be back in the summer to dine in. The restaurant is beautiful and has a lovely feel to it.

Where to start? The staff? The welcome from young Violet was warm and welcoming, super! The beer cold and refreshing, the starter, Fish Pakora, mouthwatering, the chutneys lively and balanced, the curries, Achtari and Chicken Xacuti, absolutely superb with a very delicate blend of spices including lemon and naga chillies, hot stuff! The naan? That was awesome too, resembling a snow shoe in size, the correct amount of thickness and crispness allowing them to be used for dipping and scraping every last morsel of sauce, mmmm fantastic! The staff are amazing, the lady owner is an expert in Indian / Bangladeshi cooking and it shows! Do yourself a favour and dine in, the experience was worth the drive from Carlisle without a shadow of doubt.

Food was nice and portions were generous but service for a takeaway order was not good. We placed an order over the phone and told it would be roughly 40 minutes, after arriving I was told some items on my order were unavailable so I would have to change them for something else which led to another 20 minute wait before the food was ready. I would have at least expected a callback to say the order would need changed before I drove there.

Great food, don't let the outside put you off, a warm welcome, friendly chat and great food. Interesting pickle tray for the poppadoms. We shared 4 Currys, 2 rices, and 2 amazing Nana's. Do take a moment to enjoy, the coconut options and veggie starter hit the spot.
